Lilian HOFMEISTER

Lilian Hofmeister, Substitute Member 

Dr. Lilian Hofmeister, born on Oct. 16th, 1950 in Vienna; attended school in Vienna; graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium in Vienna Ottakring in 1968; doctorate in law (Dr.iur.) at the University of Vienna in 1972; training to become a judge, judgeʼs examination in 1976; judge at the District Court Innere Stadt and District Court for Commercial Matters (“Bezirksgericht für Handelssachen”) in Vienna from 1976 to 1982, judge at the Commercial Court (“Handelsgericht”) in Vienna from 1983 to 1990, and again from 1997, judge retired since Nov. 1st, 2010; head of the Enforcement Court Vienna since 1997; deputy head of the Federal Commission for Iron and Steel at the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy  from 1991 to 1994; head of the working team for issues of equal treatment (“Arbeitsgruppe für Gleichbehandlungsfragen”) at the Federal Ministry of Justice from 1996 to 2003; awarded privy counsilor in 2005; election for member of the Committee on the Elimination of the Discrimination against Women in 2014 for the term of office from 2015 until 2018; substitute member of the Constitutional Court from 1998 until 2020, nominated by the Federal Government.
