Claudia Kahr, Member of the Constitutional Court 

Dr. Claudia Kahr, born on September 30th, 1955 in Graz; attended school in Graz, graduated in 1973 from the Akademisches Gymnasium Graz; doctorate in law (Dr.iur.) at the University of Graz in 1978; judicial practice; Collège d’Europe, Bruges, from 1978 to 1979; Constitutional Service of the Federal Chancellery from 1979 to 1984; legal assistant at the cabinet of the Minister of Science and Transport (Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology) from 1987 to 1989; constitutional reporter at the SPÖ (Social Democratic Party of Austria) Club, parliament, from 1989 to 1992; head of the office of the state secretary for European Integration (and Development Cooperation) at the Federal Chancellery from 1992 to 1995; completion of education for systemic organizational consulting at the Institute for Systemic Consulting Heidelberg (“Heidelberger Institut für systemische Forschung”) in 1994; head of the Department for European Law and head of Group A in the Constitutional Service of the Federal Chancellery in 1996; head of Department II – General Traffic Policy/Traffic Planning for all land transport modes (railway, combined transport, road traffic, international traffic policy, and shipping) at the Federal Ministry for Science and Transport; presidium member of the Austrian Convention from 2003 to 2005; executive function for legal entities: member of the board of partners at Knoch, Kern & Co KG.

Member of the Constitutional Court since 1999; repeatedly elected Judge-Rapporteur; nominated for constitutional judge by the Federal Government.
