Michael Holoubek, Member of the Constitutional Court 

Dr. Michael Holoubek, born on November 5th, 1962 in Vienna; attended school in Vienna, graduated in 1981 from the Bundesgymnasium/Bundesrealgymnasium Billrothstraße 73, Vienna Döbling; graduated with a Master’s Degree (Mag.) in 1986, doctorate (Dr.iur.) in 1989, postgraduate program for International Studies at the University of Vienna from 1986 to 1987; judicial practice from 1986 to 1987; assistant at the Institute of Constitutional and Administrative Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) from 1987 to 1989 and from 1991 to 1997 (o.Univ.Prof. Dr. Karl Korinek); academic assistant at the Constitutional Court from 1989 to 1990 (o.Univ.Prof. Dr. Karl Spielbüchler); habilitation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) for Public Law in 1996; (deputy) chairman of the Federal Allocation Control Commission (“Bundes-Vergabekontrollkommission”) from 1993 to 2006; member of the (regional radio/ cable and satellite broadcasting) Federal private broadcasting Agency (“Privatfunkbehörde des Bundes”) from 1994 to 2001; (alternate) member of the Federal Communication Senate (“Bundeskommunikationssenat”) from 2001 to 2010; substitute of professorship for Public Law at the Institute of Technical and Environmental law of the Faculty of Law at the Dresden University of Technology from 1997 to 1998; professor for Public Law at the (present) Institute for Austrian and European Public Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) since 1998; alternate member of the ad hoc working group of the European Convention (“Konvent”) drafting the “Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union” from 1999 to 2000, elected by the National Council; chairman of the faculty senate at the Vienna University of Economics and Business from 2000 to 2003; member of the Austrian Convention from 2004 to 2005; research stay and guest professorship at the School of Law, University of Limerick, Ireland, from 2005 to 2006; vice rector for Infrastructure and Human Resources at the Vienna University of Economics and Business from 2007 to 2010; rectorate’s representative for new construction (new “Campus WU”) at the Vienna University of Economics and Business from 2011 to 2014; chairman of the advisory board for the allocation of means to the uncommercial broadcast and private broadcast RTR-Ltd. since 2009; chairman of the Department for Public Law and Tax Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business; executive function for legal entities: member of the supervisory board of the Wiener Stadtwerke Holding AG; member of the advisory board of the Campus WU Ltd.

Member of the Constitutional Court since 2011; repeatedly elected Judge-Rapporteur; nominated for constitutional judge by the National Council.
